I don't normally expose stuff like this..... which is why this is my debut article for the weekend exposure feature. When I first tried to expose my moon, the camera was in an automatic mode (The one with the picture of the mountain on it). The moon is not a mountain and I got a fuzzy, washed out, and very over-exposed moon. Subsequent attempts yielded similiar results and I realized that doing the same thing over and over again wouldn't help. I was going to have to work to get my moon the proper exposure.
I switched the camera into the Tx mode and dialed the shutter speed down to 1/250th of a second. I knew that would cause the image to be under exposed because there was not enough aperture available to get the light at that speed for a proper exposure. When I reviewed my images the second two pictures were revealed to me. I had chosen the correct exposure time to bring out the smallest details of my moon (The smallest of cracks and the odd crater were there for all to see). I knew then that I would have to publish the images thus exposing it to all my friends.
Weekend exposure is a feature of the NV photographers, but the bad jokes are all me.
